Line 19 - Chaos
A little snow fell on the ground, then a snowstorm started. That couldn't possibly be any problem for companies like SL right? I mean they've had years of experiences of the Swedish winter weather?! But I was proved wrong. Apparently all the information that SL wrote on their website about how prepared they are for the winter weather is false.
The Green Line (Tub1) just couldn't take it anymore, it gave up. The snow was too thick and it eventually covered the third rail, making it impossible to transfer electricity from the third rail to the subway. So all traffic on the Green Line was reduced and the loud speaker said "Oregelbunden Trafik", approximately like irregular traffic.
Line 19 between Gullmarsplan and Hagsätra just couldn't take it anymore. All traffic between this stretch is canceled and replaced with bus. Okay, buses, fine. But it's better that we define SL's definition of "Bus-on-rail-service". They think that two short buses (13 meters long, approximately 76 passengers/bus) that leaves every 10th minute is enough to serve the people on that stretch, but oh no SL, you are wrong. The queue at Gullmarsplan was so messy that bypassing buses had to take extra care. Fine SL, make it every 10th minute with two short buses per time, but they can't even accomplish that! I waited for 30 minutes on the way back at Hagsätra, and finally it came a articulated bus, but what good does that do? How could that possibly replace 9 units of C20?
Then there were 9 buses all stuck in the terminal at Högdalen. Why make the buses depart at the same time? Why don't you organize some kind of timetable, making the bus depart every 5th or 10th minute instead of making it depart every 30th minute, but with 6 buses in the same direction???
Anyways, the stretch stopped around 13:38 and was later ready to be back in traffic around 19:00.
